Limited Companies and LLPs are sent paper reminders each year to tell them when to submit their company accounts and confirmation statement. Companies House have announced they will no longer be sending these paper reminders. They estimate these letters cost £1.2 million to print last year. This saving will now be reinvested into its products and services and with less paper used is also better for the environment.
Company directors have a duty to ensure the companies documents are filed on time. We recommend you sign up to receive free email reminders from Companies House. You can add up to four people to receive these (including your agent or accountant). The email reminder service will send you an email advising when your company’s accounts and confirmation statements are due to be submitted.
It is quick and easy to sign up for the email reminders. To find out more and to register please take a look at the Gov.uk guidance which can be found here.
Any additional correspondence from Companies House such as penalty letters and important company notices will still be sent by post to the registered office address.
If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your usual Hardcastle Burton contact.
