The Rural Accountancy Group UK – Spring Conference 2023

Hardcastle Burton LLP is a member of the The Rural Accountancy Group UK (RAG UK). The group includes accountancy firms across the UK who specialise in providing services to rural and agricultural businesses. We share knowledge and expertise throughout the year and recently met for our annual spring conference.

Hugh Anderson from Downton Distillery shared the history behind his brand, the challenges the industry faced during Covid and new innovative ideas like their eco refill packs of gin!

We also visited Rushall Organics, a 5000 acre organic farm estate and Chalk, their wedding venue in Wiltshire. Joseph Wookey showed us round the farm that has been in the family for four generations. We heard about the diversification into weddings and merits of organic farming. The farm has seen a huge increase in wildlife as a result of conservation efforts.
